BAC gathering: SF Golden Gate Park

Wow... it's been a while since this was update hahaha. And seeing that I'm probably not going to get any studying done tonight (OTL forever), I might as well see how quickly I can throw this one together and revive the blog LOLOL. As you can tell, I really suck at writing these things compared to Guavi, so much apologies in advance if I fail to entertain you. ;____;

Well, so after being a bit bummed after learning that I can't attend yet another Norcal cosplay gathering, I found this little gathering while digging around on FB. It seemed like a decent sized, friendly gathering so I thought it was worth a shot and managed to drag Guavi (who cosplayed as POTaDOS), Caitlin (Mei Chang), and dazzlenacht (Synchronicity Rin) along with me (I went as Synchronicity Len). When we got there, we were pleasantly greeted by Esper Kit who was hosting the event, and then proceeded to stand around awkwardly among equally awkward cosplayers. Hahaha, what do you expect from an otaku gathering? XD

After chatting more awkwardly with some of the more outgoing attendees, we decided to do something to break the awkward and what's better than to take awkward photos in a playground teeming with small children? XD

So thus, we decided to hit the swings, and promptly depriving a poor America cosplayer  from a seat LOL.

After much loitering, we finally started to eat! The night before, Guavi, Karen and I were preparing a pasta dish that we brought. Too bad I didn't take any pictures. :( Caitlin also baked  a PORTAL CAKE OMG but sadly, I don't have any pictures of it either. However....

We did get photos of POTaDOS fully enjoying her caek made by the Almighty Supreme Caek Supplier Caitlin.

And then we realized someone brought cherries to the gathering so we just had to do it. XD

Someone got a little sleepy....

Afterwards, it seemed as if nothing else was going on (besides awkward dancing, awkward fighting, and an awkward Len awkwardly eating a banana), so we decided to run away from all the awkwardness and go on a mini photoshoot. I mean, why not? :P We got lots of strange stares from casual picnic-ers and hikers, but all in all, it wasn't too bad I guess lol.

Found a super awesome grove and immediately, we ordered are Rin to hide in it. :D

I call this the awkward asian squat. Others call it a natural shonen pose. *shrugs* I was trying to scout out a good angle for another photo when Caitlin shouts out "FREEZE DONT' MOVE" and I was like "WHAOKWHAT'SGOINGON." But hey you can see my sword pretty well at least LOL. It hangs really awkwardly tho... Need to fix that. >__>

We couldn't help but tease our POTaDOS all day long. :D Especially with all the birds around the park. We had so much fun forcing POTaDOS to stand with the birds LOLOLOL.

We're gonna get killed. For sure.

All in all, I think it was pretty fun! So many weird experiences though hahaha. We got honked at by a couple cars when we were marching over and got yelled at by a truck driver. Talk about awkward. Also, we ran into some other Berkeley students who, after finding out that we some of us were also Berkeley students, asked to take a picture with us. Talk about moar awkward LOLOLOL! Unfortunately, we didn't really talk to anyone else there... so... haha a bit disappointing on my part, but nevertheless, we did take a couple of pretty nice shots, and we got to experience our first "cosplay gathering." Not sure if I'd go to another BAC event, but who knows? ;D
