Please help our friend bring her father back!!

Hey all you readers out there, and all of those who may have happened to stumble by. Our dear friend and Caek member, Victoria, has been fighting to bring her father back from China where he is being unjustly detained!

If you remember, she was part of our Knite group and always has been supporting us ever since we started! She is such a nice and caring person and I don't want her and her family to continue suffering like they are.

Also, Yuumei posted a lovely and heartbreaking comic illustrating her plight: http://my.deviantart.com/messages/#/d4dpebo In her artist comment, there are a lot of links that will lead to more information so if you'd like, please check those out as well!

Please, please, please spread the word and sign the petition! A small minute of your time can mean a whole lot! Thank you all so much for reading!!!

Matryoshka Photo Shoot!

Caught your attention eh? Courtesy of Yummei and Bean for photo edit and concept ^^

Where to start, where to start. I guess I'll introduce myself since I'm new to this blog and only recently really got into the swing of things.

Hej! Jeg hedder Spark. Je kommer fra Amerika. Jeg er taiwanesiske og kantonesiske. Jeg kan tale engelsk og kinesisk. Hvad med dig? Hvad hedder du? Hvor kommer du fra? Kan du tale dansk og engelsk? Hej hej!

*cough* pardon the random, simple introduction. I'm still learning haha. But any way, a little more about me: I've not been in the cosplay scene very long, nor do I really claim to be a "cosplayer". I've only been super into all the outfits and craftsmanship thanks to my lovely roommate Bean. Aren't these people amazing? Really, when they put their mind to it, they make rainbows and sparkles and DEEP DARK EMOTIONAL AWESOME. (pardon the nightly distractions I am tired.) But in all seriousness, let's get to the point that I wanted to reach with this post: photoshoots.

It's one thing to have a photoshoot with friends and your cosplay where everyone knows what is going on and fun ensues! It's another when it is with a professional photographer (well, getting his licenses to be a pro-photographer) who is interested in starting a "Cosplay porfolio" because it is something he is interested in. Where to start this story? Well... it probably goes like this:

Len, Gumi, Miku, Rin

BAC gathering: SF Golden Gate Park

Wow... it's been a while since this was update hahaha. And seeing that I'm probably not going to get any studying done tonight (OTL forever), I might as well see how quickly I can throw this one together and revive the blog LOLOL. As you can tell, I really suck at writing these things compared to Guavi, so much apologies in advance if I fail to entertain you. ;____;

Fanime Masquerade Skit

That was...probably one of the most tiring and stress-inducing events we've managed yet. x___x But we pulled through! Fantastic job everyone! It's a shame you can't see the dragon in this recording.

[EDIT] Here's a different recording where you can see the dragon. :D

Synchronicity: mini-shoot at Fanime

Date: May 28th, 2011
Location: Downtown San Jose
Series: Vocaloids - Synchronicity
Cosplayers: Bean (Len), Guavi (Miku), Katrina (Rin), Deb (Kaito), and Caitlin (Meiko)
Photographer/helper/general people of AWESOME: Fish, Karen

We didn't get a chance to have a real shoot since the weekend was so hectic. But here are some nice photos we did manage to snap.

A real con report and process-documentation post will come...eventually. Once we get a chance to take a breather.

See You At Fanime!

Our group will be attending Fanime '11 as Synchronicity Vocaloids for the majority of the con, as well as participating in the Masquerade with a skit. We will have quite a large group, with Rin, Len, Miku, Kaito, Meiko, and Luka. We will also be holding an informal Knite gathering around 5:30 on Saturday evening. See you there!

Expect a full report with pictures, as well as documentation of our costume-construction process, when we get back from this madness!

Knite Shoot: Fall '10

Date: November 2010
Location: Somebody's roof, Berkeley
Series: Knite
Cosplayers: Bean (Sen), Victoria (Ling), Guavi, Melinda, and Caitlin (ourselves)
Photographer: Ryan
Helper: (I'm sorry it was cold I was sleep-deprived and I really can't remember ;_; Fill me in here?)

After reading Yuumei's comics, Knite, we were both inspired and touched. Before we got together for this, Bean had asked us to "Consider what Knite means for you."

Each of us found our own meanings and reasons.

Fire Emblem Shoot: Spring Break '10

Date: March, 2010
Location: Alum Rock Park
Series: Fire Emblem
Cosplayers: Guavi (Soren), Deb (Ike)
Photographers: Bean, Melz, Jiajie

Note: edited shots can be found on Bean and Guavi's deviantArt pages.

It was spring break, a time for all us college kids to come back home and do nothing of importance for an entire week. Time was ripe, we thought, for us to get together and have some more cosplay shenanigans.

When Guavi suddenly remembered the great location that is Alum Rock Park - only a five minute drive from her house, no less! - everyone got excited. Off we went on our second real photo shoot!

But are we EVER serious?

TEEHEE.

Nah, these aren't the REAL shiny shiny projects. Tis but a small just-for-fun side project. Still waiting on the others to finish theirs!
Everything was made from parts and scratch - those aren't real headphones. :D

I'm sure most of you who've managed to make your way to this blog have already seen this photo.

This photo was taken and edited during out first ever planned - real - photo shoot. Seems all nice and shiny, right?

Aha. Haha. Hahahahahahaha.

This is what really went on that day, what the vast majority of the photos really looked like.
